Every year, Unity music ministers and directors from around the world gather in Kansas City, MO, for the Sound Connections Music Conference, an annual get-together with some of the very best New Thought/Positive Music artists
around.

This year, the conference, which is taking place Sept. 16-20 at the Sheraton Kansas City, will feature several workshops and seminars on topics such as writing songs of love, creating a church choir and how to write piano arrangements.

Some of my favorite New Thought musicians ― including Jana Stanfield, David Roth, Sue Riley, Richard Mekdeci, Jan Garrett and JD Martin ― will also be on hand throughout the weekend leading workshops and inspiring all
of us with their amazing music.

I was honored to be asked to lead some of the workshops, too, and I’ll be giving talks on “The Creativity Myth” and “Left Brain Right Brain Singing.”

I'm also excited to be performing three concerts with David Roth and Richard Mekdeci just after the conference. We’ll be at Unity of Columbia, MO, on Sept. 21; Unity of Springfield, MO, on Sept. 22; and Unity of Joplin, MO, on Sept. 23. If you live nearby, come join us!

But the best part is that one of my biggest idols, Daniel Nahmod, will be receiving the Grace Note Award this year, which honors outstanding achievement in New Thought music.

Daniel’s heart-felt music has inspired millions of people throughout the world. A total of 15 of his songs have been recorded by more than 50 artists in the past few years, and he has sold more than 90,000 CDs to date. Best known for his album Water, which he wrote after a three-month sabbatical in the Red Rock country of southern Utah, Daniel’s songs are all about faith, serenity and surrender.

Daniel was my producer on my latest album, Breathe, and I had a wonderful time working with him in his Los Angeles studio and am grateful to him for all of his wise advice and gentle guidance.

For me, attending the Sound Connections Music Conference is a way for me to hone my songwriting skills and get re-connected with my spiritual path, which I believe is bringing joy and healing to the world through music. I always leave feeling rejuvenated about my calling and often come up with some great ideas for new songs to try out back at my Unity
church, U

Can’t wait to tell you how it turns out!
