On The Road from MO!

Every year the Music Ministry Team of Unity meets at Sound Connections our annual conference to share, support, play music, take workshops, give workshops and SING.  Music directors, choir directors and new thought musicians from Unity Churches around the country attend and it is a true celebration.  The only drawback is that the week zips by at warp speed. This years’ conference was called “A Prayer Twice Prayed”, (based on the St Augusta quote I love, “Whoever sings prays twice”)

I gave two workshops this year, Left Brain/Right Brain Singing, and The Myth of Creativity. I want to thank everyone who came to those workshops and participated.

You being there made all the difference!

When the conference ended, I went to Unity Village (the mother ship) for a day off, when I ran into my pal and producer Daniel Nahmod. Daniel was the recipient of this years’ Grace Note Award at Sound Connections. He gave a great keynote as did the Amazing Michael Gott, then Friday night Danny gave an great concert at Unity Village, and graciously called me up to do a couple songs.( Meditation and Take My Advice.)

Great fun~

And speaking of Michael Gott, I will be singing at Unity of Houston TX where he is Associate Minister, Wednesday Nov 6th.

After Sound Connections I hit the bricks with 2 of the best guys I know, David Roth and Richard Mekdeci. Richard is cofounder with Sue Riley of Empower Music and Arts. The group that brings the Posi Awards and Posi Palooza Concerts to you! www.empowerma.com and David Roth is one of the most gifted singer/songwriters/activist/guitar hero/teachers I know!

I gave the sermon in song at Unity of Columbia MO, Sunday morning after our concert Saturday night. Thanks a million to Gary Smith the music director who looks like a movie star! And Rev Maday. We then took the show to Springfield Unity and had a great time with Sue Baggett-Spears. She and her husband Sean even hosted us.

They have a popcorn machine AND a big screen 3D TV! AND the most terrific – I mean the SECOND most terrific – dog on the planet, Jasmine. That’s livin’

We ended our tour in Joplin MO, and those brave souls are doing Amazing things rebuilding their church. We found Joplin t-shirts at a local Goodwill to wear on stage in support and solidarity. And even Patsy Cline showed up. I was moved to sing Patsy, not sure why till a gal came up to me after the show and said her mom had passed a few months earlier and the family played her favorite, Patsy Cline songs as she made her transition, and she felt the presence of her mom there.

Miracles happen every day, and I feel very blessed and grateful to make my living doing what I absolutely love.

Hey y’all, I’m looking forward to being in OK and TX in Nov, and can’t wait to see you. I’ll let you know when and where. Till then – take good care

Blessings for a beautiful harvest season,

Megon
